Before You Go strives to be the first choice online publication for those people who want to travel off the beaten path or for those who are actively looking for a new nation to call home. Some of our readers will already have a destination in mind, while others will be seeking ideas and inspiration for new horizons. Common to all of our subscribers will be the need for first hand, in depth and up to date information.
Not all of our readers will be retirees or financially independent. Many will be sourcing opportunities to work overseas or start a business in their country of choice. Travelers will be interested in ways they can self fund their adventures.
To meet the needs of our readers we are seeking articles and reports written by others who have already done what our subscribers want to do. So, if you have relocated, traveled, stayed in another country or countries for a prolonged period, started a business, earned money while traveling or have any other relevant information for our readership we want to hear from you.
Previous writing experience is less important than firsthand experience and in depth knowledge of the topic you propose to write about.
The length of your article should be between 3,000 and 10,000 words. We may consider wordage outside of that range if the subject matter is of special interest and will not extend to, or exceeds our guidelines.
See below for a range of topics we are seeking. This list is not exhaustive and we are happy to receive proposals on other areas that you consider may be of interest. We pay for articles and the amount will vary according to the length and subject of the article or report.
This might be the place to launch your writing career, or another outlet for established freelance writers. You might do a one off article for us or a whole series or a regular column. Who knows where an article idea submission might lead?
